Happy 5th Birthday, Makenzie!

Makenzie turned five years old today! I can hardly believe she's already 5! I remember the day she was born like it was just yesterday...I was going to school at Utah State and I was so excited to be an aunt! Brody and Corine lived in Michigan so Brody called me and told me she was born and he emailed me some pictures of her. I ran up to campus to use the computer and saw my beautiful little niece! I couldn't wait to see her in real life! I saw her for the first time at the Salt Lake airport when they brought her home to visit. She is such a sweet, intelligent, fun little girl! Jake and I are so happy she's our niece! We love you so much, Makenzie! Have a wonderful Birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday, Ivy!

Today is our niece Ivy's first birthday! This is my favorite picture of her! It's not too clear because it was taken with my cell phone at a restaurant but I love how she crinkles her little nose! She is a sweet little baby and I'm so happy she's our niece. Have a great birthday, cutie!

Tyler and Barry's Birthdays

February 9th was Tyler's birthday and Barry's was today, the 10th. They are getting old! Tyler is 29 now (right?) and Barry is 31. It's crazy how old we're all getting! We didn't get to be with Ty on his birthday but they celebrated last week while they were here. Hopefully he had a great birthday.

Something funny about Barry is that he's never been able to blow all his birthday candles out. He claims he can't aim his air the way he wants it to go. Here's a good picture of him after his first attempt. Notice how many candles are still lit. And we didn't even have all 31 candles! There were only a box full which is like 24.

I'm so glad I have such wonderful brothers! They are great examples to me and they teach me so much.

Sissel!

For Christmas we gave my mom and dad some tickets to Sissel's concert and we all got to go to it tonight. It was an amazing show! She is such a wonderful singer! There's something about her voice that is so mesmerizing. If you ever get a chance to see a concert of hers, do it! It was one of my favorites.

Sleepover with the nieces

We had a really fun weekend staying out at Brody and Corine's house. Our nieces have been asking us to have a sleepover for a while now so we finally got to. Friday night we went to watch Brody's basketball game, had some yummy dessert Corine made, played games, and watched a movie. On Saturday we played some more games, ate scones for breakfast, visited Tristan and Curtis in Eagle Mountain, and went and saw Enchanted (for the 3rd time).

Here's a cute story about Eliza: We decided to play Old Maid and she was on my team. By the end of the game we had the Old Maid and it was just Brody and us left. Well, we were sneaky enough to get Brody to choose the Old Maid on the last draw and Eliza started crying. We just assumed she thought we lost or she was scared of the Old Maid or something. I took her upstairs to brush her teeth and get ready for bed. After she stopped crying she looked at me with a sad face and said, "I didn't want my dad to get the Old Maid!" What a sweetheart!

Super Bowl Sunday

Scoot and Michelle were nice enough to invite us and some friends over to watch the Super Bowl since we don't have TV. Jake and I didn't really care who won as long as we got to see a good game. We ended up cheering for the Giants since they were the underdogs and 'cause we think Randy Moss is too cocky.

And here is the treat table after the party. Notice the goodies are almost completely gone. That bowl was full of muddy buddies and the pan was full of rice krispie treats. We had a fun time pigging out on all the yummy treats! Thanks, Scoot and Michelle!

Winter Wonderland

This winter has been crazy! It seems like it snowed just about every day last month. I thought it would be fun to post a few pictures of what our yard and house looks like.

If you're wondering why our roof doesn't have all the snow on it, it's not because we shoveled it. It's made out of some kind of metal and the snow just slides right off. It's pretty convenient but it took me a long time to figure out what the noise it makes was. When the snow falls off the roof it sounds like a herd of deer prancing outside the window and that's what I thought it was our first winter here.

And here's how deep the snow is by our lamppost. It's kinda hard to tell but we have a good 2-3 feet piled up out there.

Britt and Michelle's Quilts

Since Michelle graduated from college in December and doesn't start her internship until February, we have been able to spend our otherwise "boring" mornings and afternoons together going to aerobics with all the old ladies in Logan and making rag quilts. I have had so much fun having a friend to hang out with and I'll be so sad when Scoot and Michelle move back down to Salt Lake in May. :( They have been our best buddies and we don't know what we'll do without them. I guess we'll just have to move back to Salt Lake too!!
