The story of my labor...

So in my last post I wrote about how my Doctor was planning on inducing me on the morning of Feb. 3. I called Jake and told him we would be having this baby the next day. After my doctor's appointment I went on with the rest of my day getting everything ready to go to the hospital the next morning.

That night I was too excited to sleep. I decided to take a bath around 10:30 thinking that would help me relax and finally fall asleep. I started having some contractions and I just thought they were Braxton Hicks or whatever. Around 2:30 they were getting pretty strong and close together so I finally woke Jake up and told him I thought I was in labor. He wasn't too worried about it. He just told me to remember that I'm not supposed to go to the hospital until my contractions were 5 minutes apart. I had been timing them and I don't know how but they were close like 2-3 minutes apart. I still couldn't believe I was in labor though.

I took another shower and got things ready while Jake stayed in bed. I called the hospital to see if we could come in and they said it would be fine. So I told Jake we were going. We made it to the hospital around 4:00 am. The nurse checked to see how I was progressing and my water broke. I got an epidural around 6:00 am (the anesthesiologist is my best friend!) and my labor went like clockwork. I started pushing at 10:15 am and Bridger was born an hour later at 11:15 am.

Watching little Bridger be born was the neatest experience of my life! It was so exciting to finally meet this little guy I'd been wanting for so long. He was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! It's hard to describe the love I immediately felt for him. He is a little angel and I'm so glad he came to our family!
